About us

Who we are and what we offer to couples, individuals & corporations:

Atlanta Couple Therapy’s role has been to provide a supportive and safe environment in order to empower our clients. This allows them to make decisions, break past patterns and move closer to their intended goals. We use schema and cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses on recognizing and challenging unproductive and self-defeating thoughts and processes.
Our therapists take an active directive approach and work together with our clients to create treatment plans that will positively impact our clients’ daily lives.
Often times, when couples come to our office, they are either at a standstill or in intense conflict. We often used specialized techniques called ‘Gottman’ for treatments. We have a long track of records using research, experiences, lengthy clinical training to help couples improve their communication, intimacy, conflict resolution skills, and rebuild trust after infidelity.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Counseling provides a supportive space for couples to address communication problems, unresolved conflicts, and emotional distance. Therapists use techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy and the Gottman method to help couples understand behavior patterns, solve problems, and rebuild trust.

It also teaches empathy, patience, and understanding. Couples learn to express their needs, resolve conflicts respectfully, and support each other emotionally and spiritually. Over time, these skills become lasting tools for maintaining a strong, connected relationship.

It is more than just talking through problems – it combines practical relationship guidance with faith-based principles. Many people hesitate to seek help because they worry it means their relationship is failing or that they’re doing something wrong. The truth is, counseling can be a powerful tool for strengthening your connection, improving communication, and navigating challenges with your faith as a guide.

Still unsure? Here are some reasons people turn to it:

    • You and your partner struggle to communicate effectively.
    • Conflicts keep repeating without resolution.
    • You’re facing a major life transition together, like marriage, parenthood, or relocation.
    • Trust has been broken and forgiveness feels difficult.
    • You want guidance on aligning your relationship with your spiritual values.
    • You’re dealing with stress, resentment, or unresolved past issues.
    • You want to grow closer and deepen your bond.
    • Differences in beliefs or values are causing tension.
    • You feel disconnected or distant from your partner.
    • You’re looking for a safe space to talk openly without judgment.

This type of counseling isn’t just for couples in crisis – it’s a proactive way to build a stronger, more resilient, and faith-centered relationship.

It provides a safe, non-judgmental space where you and your partner can openly share your thoughts and feelings. It’s not about telling you what to do but about exploring your relationship, gaining clarity, and learning healthy ways to communicate and resolve conflicts. Sessions can be challenging at times, but they offer a space for growth, deeper connection, and building a relationship grounded in faith and understanding.

The number of sessions varies depending on the complexity of the issues and the goals set by the couple. Research shows many couples see noticeable improvement within eight sessions, with more substantial, lasting results often achieved over three to six months. Some couples may need additional support for challenges like rebuilding trust after infidelity or addressing long-term communication problems. Others may make meaningful progress more quickly, depending on their commitment and willingness to practice the strategies learned during sessions. The focus is on sustainable growth rather than a fixed timeline.

Currently, we do not accept insurance. This policy may change in the future.

Confidentiality is a core principle. Everything shared during sessions remains private unless disclosure is required by law, such as safety concerns or a court order. This ensures a safe environment where couples can speak openly, explore sensitive topics, and work toward solutions without fear of judgment or exposure.

One partner being hesitant is common. Counseling works best when both attend, but individual sessions are still valuable. You can gain insight into your own behavior, improve communication skills, and learn ways to encourage your partner to participate voluntarily.

Pushing a reluctant partner can create tension. A patient, supportive approach is often more effective, letting one partner model positive change and gradually invite joint participation.

It’s common to worry that a therapist might side with your partner, or that counseling will become a space for blame. At Atlanta Couple Therapy, we focus on creating a safe, neutral environment where both partners can openly share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Our counselors remain impartial, listening to each perspective without judgment, and helping you communicate more effectively while working toward a stronger, healthier relationship.

Rebuild Broken Trust in a Relationship: Your Path to Healing and Emotional Safety

Here’s a sobering statistic: Research shows that 60-75% of couples stay together after infidelity but only 15.6% of those relationships thrive without professional help. The difference? PTSD and Marriage: How Trauma Damages Relationships (And What Actually Helps)

Many couples describe their marriage as suddenly feeling distant, tense, or emotionally exhausting without understanding why. The culprit? Often, it’s untreated PTSD quietly dismantling the relationship from the inside out. PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing traumatic events—military combat, accidents, abuse, natural disasters, or significant loss. While symptoms obviously affect the individual, spouses and
